Each month I make a new order with Young Living to replace the oils I've used throughout the month. One of the best parts is getting to try out an oil I haven't purchased before. I love being a guinea pig when it comes to my oils!
This month I bought two new oils, Myrrh, to help strengthen our teeth and gums, which you'll see in a future blog post, and Highest Potential. Highest Potential I got in the spirit of assessing whether an oil blend might help inspire me to reach my "highest potential."
Young Living describes Highest Potential as "an exotic blend designed to increase your capacity to achieve your highest potential. It combines the uplifting and inspirational qualities of Australian Blue with the power of Gathering to help bring greater unity of purpose. Jasmine is added to enhance self-confidence, while ylang ylang calms, soothes, and harmonizes."
The first lesson I've learned is always check the ingredients! Highest Potential is a blend of oil blends. It has Australain Blue™ (a blend of blue cypress, ylang ylang, cedarwood, blue tansy, and white fir), Gathering™ essential oil blend (galbanum, frankincense, sandalwood, lavender, cinnamon, rose, spruce, geranium, and jasmine).
Did you see all the wood-based oils in there? Cyprus, cedar, fir...? That matters, if what you're looking for is a nice scent to wear like a perfume! The scent is, not surprisingly, somewhat woody - not a pine-scented kind of "woody" but woody in a musty sort of way. I find it pleasant in an old-attic sort of way as far as scent goes. I would use it in a cologne before a perfume.
Highest Potential is a good blend though, and when I use it, I dilute it a bit with a carrier oil - I use grape seed or olive oil, but you can purchase V-6 oil from various places, including Young Living. I've been wearing it almost every day for about two weeks now to try to get a better assessment of how well it works and whether it helps feed me in body, mind, or soul.
It gives me thoughts of being outdoors, like when I go camping or playing with the kids, times when I really feel alive. To that end, I do find myself working more diligently and in a focused way - which would, of course, increase my odds of reaching my Highest Potential!
I would love to have you join me in trying my newest oil each month and share your opinion here on my blog (or link up with a blog post of your own!) You can order Young Living Essential Oils here - contact me to be added to my mailing list if you want to make sure you get the oil I'll be trying out with my Oil of the Month club. If you'd like to get your oils at a discount, I can tell you how to do that as well. As always, thanks for joining me here at Little Connections!
This is not an oil for internal use, but for topical or aromatherapy type use. If you have sensitive skin, it should be diluted; if you're pregnant or nursing, consider talking to your doctor before using this oil. I am not a doctor and this blog post is for information or entertainment use only.
Great oils! I love getting new oils from Young Living every month.
ReplyDeleteI do too! It is so much fun getting to try new things and see how many uses I can come up with for them. Even my kids and my husband ask for them before heading for the now-seldom-used medicine cabinet!
DeleteDone with my orders this month and I got Highest Potential as a free gift!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try...
