Motivation on a "Blah" Day

This morning I actually woke up and had to really think about what needed to be done that day. Yesterday the whole house was vacuumed and dusted, kitchen cleaned, bathrooms cleaned... now we're getting down to the "little" stuff. The decluttering, the deep cleaning, the "extras" that don't get hit as often.

So I made my way downstairs... and I tanked.
I completely froze up and lost my motivation for doing much of anything. And I feel terrible: lethargic, unmotivated, and antsy. I hate feeling this way. That awful feeling that you WANT to do something but you just can't work up the energy and motivation to do so. I believe this feeling is even reflected in this blog post - especially since I've said the same thing in about twenty different ways in two paragraphs!

So now that it is 3:30 in the afternoon and the neighbor kids are starting to come around and I'm still not moving much, I am asking myself what I do normally to get the boys moving when they are acting the way I feel. And the answer is: we do something to get us moving. We take a walk, jump up and down, forced work ("working out the Grumpus"), clean something (anything!), do a load of laundry... so that is where I am now. I've done the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I am contemplating what to do next because it has not worked yet. I am still grumpy and out-of-sorts and not feeling the love of cleaning.

One thing is for sure - being on the computer is only making things worse, not better! So off I go to work out my own Grumpus and fix my attitude! Just like I do for my boys.
